“Knee Deep” Artsit talk with Kenzie Adair
Kenzie Adair (Oklahoma, 1991) completed a BFA in May, 2014 from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA. She has exhibited her work in Savannah, GA, Tulsa, OK, and Lacoste, France. In her recent work, she compares organic forms, patterns, and materials with simulated representations of nature and the body. By layering abstracted figurative forms, natural fibers such as raw wool, digitally-constructed patterns and synthetic fabric such as felt and fabric, she creates spaces that attempt to replace or control the natural through synthetic substitutes and the resulting disconnection between humans and the environment.
Her solo exhibition Knee Deep will be on display in the Emerging Artist Gallery of the SCAD Museum of Art from August 14th through November 4th. Currently, she is living and working in Tulsa, OK.
